Temple Talks

Geoff and I have been assigned to speak in church this coming Sunday. Because of this assignment, I've been reading through a lot of talks and books by the leaders of the church. There are a few things that really stood out to me:

"Our success is never measured by how strongly we are tempted but by how faithfully we respond."
(Elder Robert D. Hales- April 2009 Conference)

"Now is the time for labor. Let the fire of the covenant which you made in the House of the Lord, burn in your hearts, like flame unquenchable."
(Elder David A. Bednar, quoting Brigham Young- April 2009 Conference)

"Understanding the eternal nature of the temple will draw you to your family; understanding the eternal nature of the family will draw you to the temple."
(Elder Gary E. Stevenson- April 2009 Conference)

"I have never asked why by rather what is it that He wants me to learn from this experience. I believe that is a good way to face the unpleasant things in our lives, not complaining but thanking the Lord for the trust He places in us when He gives us the opportunity to overcome difficulties...

We can do the best we can, but the final outcome is up to Him. We should never complain, when we are living worthily, about what happens in our lives."
(Elder Richard G. Scott- April 2009 Conference)

Our talks are about Temples with an emphasis on family and the eternal nature of such. If you have any great quotes, articles or books, let me know please! Thanks! :)

Life's Good

For a long time, my family tried to come up with a family motto. As far as I know, we never really decided on one. We have the things we always joke about... "If it's free it's for me!" ... but nothing really stuck together for a true family motto, no matter how hard we tried.
While Geoff thought I was joking about having a family motto at first, he's come around to the idea. We've decided that "Life's Good" is the perfect motto. L for Lindsey and G for Geoff with the combined reminder that life is, indeed, good.
