Catch it in my coat, and smack it with a hammer

What a week it has been! First, the kitchen sink decided to have frozen pipes (yay cold Idaho). So, until we could get it fixed, we still had to eat (and we're too broke to go out) so dishes were having to be done in the shower. Yes, very Kramer-like. No worries, I did not make the salad in the shower. Granted, I didn't make salad. Anyway, we finally got the pipes fixed last night.
Then today I was reading in my room and fell asleep. I woke up to sounds in the kitchen. I thought maybe it was my landlord and Geoff had forgotten to tell me he was coming to fix something or the pipes were frozen again... something. I finally get the guts to see if it's someone I know or someone else in my house (Geoff was at work). I opened the door and my two dogs ran out and chased a squirrel through my apartment. Eventually, it was cornered in the bathroom, where they proceeded to scare the crap out of it-- no, really. I attempted to coax it out with peanut butter, but it didn't work. I called the landlord. He called animal control. What did they do? Caught it and let it go in the front yard. He'll come back... it may be in the upstairs apartment where they've already had 2, but he'll be back. Oh what an adventure! Here are some pictures:

Now, the more normal things in our life... Geoff is still working at Best Buy- holiday people aren't cool, but such is working retail. I got a job across the street from us at Little People's Academy working with the 1-6 graders after school. It's glorified babysitting, but it pays and gets me out of the house for a few hours. I also got a 2 week nanny job coming up which should pay near $800. I'm also interviewing next week to be a babysitter for a lady on a few weekends a month. Since Geoff works late a lot of weekends, I figured this would be good for some extra cash and to give me something to do on those evenings. With both of us working again, maybe we can do more than just pay the bills.
Since we are pretty broke, our Christmas decorations are minimal and pretty much homemade... but they give me something to do until work. :) Here are some pictures of some of our stuff.
(This one was a gift)

I'm also working on a Christmas tree, snowman and gingerbread man for the walls.

That about sums up life with the Bailey's at the moment. Enjoy laughing at our crazy Idaho stories while they last. A squirrel! No one else but me.
